Thoughts of the Great Mathematicians

(A sunny Autumn morning. Dr. Paul Mitchener is lying in bed, looking beatific, when an apparently complicated series of emotions pass across his face.)

Me: What is it?
Mitch: Oh nothing, nothing... I shouldn't really repeat a stream of consciousness drivel...

(This is a bit harsh as he is the one who usually levels this accusation at me)

Me: (mildly intrigued) Oh go on...
Mitch: Well, I was just thinking that there's that song 'In the Navy' and I know there's that Status Quo song 'You're In the Army Now'. I just can't think of any songs concerning the Airforce...

Answers on a postcard please...

What I Did On My Holidays

This week I have basically been of no use to myself unless feeling poorly and achy all week is of some use other than indicating that I may not indeed be a well person. So instead of my usual detritus (especially as my attempts at the tongue-in-cheek would be particularly influenced by my possibly being about to be offered share options in a number of pharmaceutical companies), I have decided to break the mould and write a fairly blow-by-blow account of Saturday's trip to Bremen. Y'see I do indeed go places which aren't the pub nor yet in Göttingen, I even go to the occasional party or social event or what have you. I just don't tend to write about it.
